 Re: Hello Everyone! couldn't they just make it so someone can run the server but can't change the settings? That seems like something that wouldn't be too hard to do.

Re: Hello Everyone! Yes. They could make it so that the ranking settings are "locked" into what the company has planned and cannot change it. You can prevent hackers by adding a feature that doesnt allow the match to give you negative XP at the end, as I've seen hacking of XP before and that is how it is stopped.
Really, its not hard to do at all. And this game would probably thrive off of client side dedicated servers and not big company servers anyway, until they can build an audience...big fail here.

Re: Hello Everyone! Crytek doesn't have ranking in their games as of yet, so don't know how they do it.
You could always hit up the Crymod.com wiki and find out. There are a lot of mods for Crysis Wars that have ranking systems that are fully functional and im sure someone has a wiki document on it.
CryEngine2 and CryEngine3 are pretty similar in source code, so I doubt it would be much different than that wiki.
Don't feel bad for using a modding website! They have some of the most talented people there and Crytek hires some modders from that website, so yeah...
