Post Tavern "Mighty Toaster"
Hi all, sry to open a new topic, but, the subject is different!

The system of war in FBC is TVT? There siege?
I thought of something like control of territory. Imagine if a man who has dominated the race X and 80% of the territory of the game, so soon after the race Y is trying to take that part and if you lose your home territory lost X% of in-game morale.

Do not know if the game will rely on this style, but would not a good idea?

hug from Brazil

Good idea, thanks!

Now the Siege is the playing mode, like Domination or Messenger, but we're planning clan-wars and other EPIC GREAT TRIALS FOR EVERYONE  Not so sure about "morale", because it requires a completely new stat (it means a lot of balancing), but i'm not a developer :)

In presistant game (like online games). Fighting over territories is fun, untill you do something meaningful at it like eliminate the enemy race or realise that fighting over territory is useless and boring. One of these things is bound to happen if it's a presistant game more you're talking about.

However overall fighting for something other than winning one game or boosting your own character is refreshing. So if you divide the territory mode over several seasons it becomes much more interesting. Clans/Players can choose their race and then playout battles across the map to see what race emerges victorious. And then after a while of wait a new season starts and everyone can choose their allegiance again.

How to determine who attacked where and how many attacks can you have and how do you balance the teams etc. are all questions that would need to be solved. It's a lot of work but it would certainly bring something new and refreshing to the online scene where the even the longest "online campaigns" last for three maps (Enemy Territory, Quake Wars: Enemy Territory).

It could work like this.... To get to the enemy base you need to destroy their advanced Outposts and Ressources sites including mines (where they mining the Silver/Gold ressource, Forests (the wood to make buildings) Rivers (water to keep the citzens alive) and the Outposts

Mr.Phoenix,
the idea of dominating a "construction" is excellent. But already have been "normal", the model presented does not exist in any game in the world.
It would basically just a logical formula:
Assuming that there are only two races in the game, then 100% of existing territory in the game, 20% is reserved for race X and 20% for race Y! The character of the "birth" will have 20% of the territory as guaranteed game "territory of race-specific birth" to explore, even if the enemy can exploit to go there too, but it can never be taken by the enemy.
100% of the territory, adding the idea that there are two races, were 60% of the total area to be dominated, exploited and signed tax.
To fill the domain creates a new territory or server when everything is "crowded" with the dominant race that ends up having financial advantages in the game.
concluding, the idea of JohnnyPhoenix is perfect but the one I had would be innovative.

attentive to detail here in Brazil. :)

balance should be such that the invaders had more problems from the captured territory. For example if the character brought a lot of areas, then God must be stronger at the weak side, etc.
